Shadow AI Discovery
Discover observed AI use across enrolled devices and turn it into governance decisions.
Shadow AI Discovery shows observed AI systems and connections across enrolled devices. Use it to review AI use, assign responsibility, and apply policy.
From observed use to a decision
Section titled “From observed use to a decision”- An enrolled device observes supported AI activity.
- The Governance Dashboard brings that evidence into the AI Asset Inventory.
- The AI Register records ownership, purpose, data categories, and governance status for a connection.
- Findings identify observed activity that needs attention.
- Published Policies determine how matching activity is handled on devices.
Understand what is visible
Section titled “Understand what is visible”Discovery depends on device enrollment, active observation, supported traffic, and successful delivery of governance evidence. It does not prove that every AI service used by every employee has been found.
An empty inventory may mean no relevant activity has arrived. Check device status and connectivity before concluding that no AI is in use.
Local discovery of skills and MCP configurations is a separate source of device information. Finding a local configuration does not prove that its server has been used. See agents and MCP.
Access
Section titled “Access”The Governance Dashboard requires access to an enabled organization. A personal Control Plane account or API key does not grant organization access. Ask your organization administrator for an invitation, then follow the quickstart.
